Meeting called to order at 6:35pm with Steve, Doc, Clark, Rhoda, Perry, Ron, Anne, Linda, Rosalita, Marlene, and Vicki in attendance and the new staff from CONWR, Kim King-Wren & Rick Speer were introduced and welcomed. 

March minutes were motioned by Doc and 2^nd by Perry for approval.

There was no change in the treasurer’s report from last month.

Old Business:

Merchandise:

Kim suggested looking at high profit margin items with limited storage needs, i.e.: insect repellent, water bottles etc.  It was suggested if the DVD of the Refuge could be for sale.

Credit card services went up $9.95 monthly.

50 second commercials started yesterday for the Friends & Refuge.

It was suggested putting the Woodland bookstore information on the outside marquis.

Discussion of reimbursement for bus trips for the field trips here.

Rosalita gave an overview of her wonderful trip to the National Friends Conference.

New Business:

Rosalita moved and Anne 2^nd that $300 be donated to Free Again for their annual spring fund.

Kathleen brought in a grant for a conservation leadership program dealing with habitat, energy and water.  We don’t have time currently but possibility for future, www.TogetherGreen.org.

Other grants are being considered by the Grant committee.

Photo Contest Committee:

Suggestions to have photos from the photo contest on the website, keep photos on display for the year at various locations.

Wetlands Committee:

Waterfowl are migrating north.

 USFWS:

19 youth hunters participated in the spring youth turkey hunt.  Prizes were given out.

Earth Day event is April 17 with about 20 presenters/stations for the 300 children.  Vicki moved and Perry 2^nd that we allot up to $200 for lunches & drinks for the presenters.

June 13 is the fishing derby, volunteers are still needed.
Wildflower walks will be every Saturday in April at 10am and 1pm.
