Meeting called to order at 6:45pm with Steve, Doc, Clark, Rhoda, Shannon, Rose, Anne, David, Colleen and Vicki and Neil from CONWR in attendance. March minutes were motioned by Doc and 2nd by Colleen for approval. Treasurer’s report approval was motioned by Anne and 2nd by Vicki. Old Business: Currently we have 47 memberships. Renewals have been sent out. People are signing up for the photo workshops. Supplies of new brochures, envelopes & stationery have been picked up & paid for. Bogard point is flooded despite the gravel that was put down. Take Pride is coordinating the Kids Fishing Derby May 31st. Donations have been coming in. Someone donated $1,000 for the cause. New Business: Discussion to decline from contributing to Williamson County drug and alcohol lock in. The group met with Terrence about website input and additions. We want it to be appealing and user friendly. Feedback regarding the website should go to Steve. USFWS: There is a hold up on tearing down the Images Marina due to electrical line. Campground was flooded; building will have to be torn down & replaced with a double- wide. Concessionaire will stay at Marina. Gate will be open but on a timer. End of April is target for campground to open but only loop A which is not flooded. Devil’s Kitchen campground scheduled to open Memorial weekend but flood may delay. Looking at getting federal funds due to the flood damage on docks, roads & 1 levy. Looking at support from other refuges to help with flooding. Refunds for boats slips will occur due to the closure. High water causing fish to flow out spillway, barriers put in place but may cause lake to rise. Wildflower walks in April at 10am and 1pm. Refuge clean up with SIU volunteers on 4/12/08. 4/19/08 Earth Day celebration with many activities for school groups. Shotgun turkey season begins 4/07/08. Meeting adjourned at 8:20pm. Annual membership of $10 is due. REMINDER THAT THE MINUTES WILL BE E-MAILED TO THOSE WE HAVE ADDRESSES FOR. COPIES WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE MEETING. |
