FRIENDS OF CRAB ORCHARD REFUGEMinutes –May 2008 

The Friends of Crab Orchard Refuge met at Giant City Lodge on May 1, 2008.The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by 2^nd Vice President Colleen Bogard. 

Members present:  Colleen Bogard, Ron Hamberg, Dan Frisk, Rhoda Ashby, Clark Ashby, Neil Vincent, Rosalita Spiller, Rosemarie Howerton, Roy Frank. The minutes of April 3, 2008 were approved. Motion made by Clark, seconded by Ron. 

NEW BUSINESS; Treasurer report. Motion was made by Clark, seconded by Rosalita. The report was approved as reported. Motion by Roy and seconded by Clark that Friends pay for Refuge personnel’s dinner at the Volunteer banquet. Motion approved. 

Ron reported that Karen has requested that badges be placed in Woodland Bookstore to be sold to Girl Scouts. Ron will check out the feasibility of this item and act accordingly. 

Roy reported that Banterra has contacted him about the incomplete authorized signatures on the bank account card.  Currently one signature is missing and the account card cannot be finalized. Assistance is requested in completing this signature card.

 Roy reported that the Bike Trail is now completely mapped. 

FISHING DERBY is planned for May 31. Volunteers are needed to assist in the ‘Fun day’ for the kids of this area. Contact the Refuge if you can help. 

USFWS REPORT:Neil reported that placing gravel will be completed on the River-to-River project. 

Neil reported that the Campground is open as of May 1.
